Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Be Unicorn LLC, a limited liability company doing business as Motn AI (“Motn,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use the Motn websites, the Motn canvas application, and related services (together, the “Services”). It is incorporated into our Terms of Service.

By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you access the Services through an organization under a separate signed agreement, that organization may be the controller of your personal data and its own privacy policy may also apply; in that case we act as a processor on its behalf.

1.Who we are and what this covers

This Policy covers personal data we process when you access or use the Services. “Personal data” means information that identifies or relates to an identifiable individual. This Policy does not cover third-party services we do not control.

Direct users. If you sign up and use the Services directly (for example, at motn.ai), Motn is the controller of your personal data.

Business users. If you use the Services as an authorized user of an organization that has a separate agreement with Motn, that organization is generally the controller and Motn acts as its processor; please also refer to that organization’s privacy policy.

2.Information we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Account and profile data. Your email address is required to create an account. You may optionally add a display name, username, and avatar.
  • Content you provide. Prompts and other inputs, images, video, audio, and brand assets you upload, URLs you ask us to analyze, your projects and canvas data, and the media and code generated for you.
  • Payment data. When you buy a paid plan, our processor (Stripe) collects your payment details. We do not store full card numbers; we keep your Stripe customer ID, plan, and subscription status.
  • Device and usage data. IP address, device and browser type, pages and features used, and product-analytics events collected automatically when you use the Services.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. Including an essential session cookie (to keep you signed in), a referral-attribution cookie, and analytics cookies. See the Cookies section below.
  • Referral data. If you arrive through a creator or partner referral link, we set a referral-attribution cookie (currently 90 days), log the visit (including a hashed IP address, browser user agent, and referring page), and associate the referral with your account, including for the purpose of attributing purchases to the referring creator.
  • Communications. Messages you send us, including support requests and feedback.

Guest sessions. If you use the Services without signing up, we create a guest workspace and collect your IP address, which we store with that guest account to prevent abuse and to rate-limit anonymous usage.

3.How we use personal data

We use personal data to:

  • provide, operate, and maintain the Services and your account;
  • authenticate you and send sign-in links;
  • generate Output from your Inputs using AI providers;
  • process payments and manage subscriptions and tokens;
  • provide support and respond to your requests;
  • secure the Services, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms;
  • analyze and improve the Services, including with aggregated or de-identified data; and
  • send you service and, where permitted, marketing communications, and comply with legal obligations.

Legal bases (EEA/UK). Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests (such as securing and improving the Services), your consent (where required, for example for certain cookies and marketing), and compliance with legal obligations.

4.AI processing and training

To generate Output, we send your Inputs and the content you provide to third-party AI providers (see the categories of providers below). We process this content to deliver the Services to you.

We do not train on your content. Motn does not use your content or Output to train, fine-tune, or develop any AI or machine-learning model, and we do not authorize our AI providers to use your content or Output to train, fine-tune, or improve any model intended for use by parties other than you.

How we enforce this. The AI providers we access directly operate under commercial or enterprise terms that contractually prohibit training on customer content. Where we access a model through an inference aggregator, we disable storage of the request inputs and outputs in the aggregator's request history for each generation we send. Note that content files needed to perform a generation — such as reference images you provide and the generated results — may be transiently hosted on the provider's storage or content-delivery network in order to process and deliver that generation.

5.Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and referrals, and understand how the Services are used.

  • Essential cookies. Required to provide the Services, including keeping you signed in.
  • Functional cookies. Remember settings and referral attribution.
  • Analytics cookies. Help us understand usage so we can improve the Services. We use PostHog and Vercel Analytics for this.

You can control or block cookies, including analytics cookies, through your browser settings or content-blocking tools, and you can ask us to exclude your account from analytics by emailing hi@motn.ai. The Services do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals. Disabling some cookies may affect functionality.

Fonts. When a project, template, or shared page uses a Google Font, your browser may load that font directly from Google Fonts servers, which transmits your IP address and browser information to Google. Fonts you upload yourself are hosted by us.

6.How we share data and our subprocessors

We do not sell your personal data. We share personal data with service providers (subprocessors) who process it on our behalf under contract, and only as needed to provide the Services. We use the following categories of providers:

Type of providerPurposeData shared
Cloud hosting & infrastructureHost the Services, store data, render media, and deliver contentAccount data, projects, prompts, uploaded and generated media, IP address
AI model & inference providersGenerate images, video, text, and code from your promptsPrompts and the images, video, or other content you provide

Screenshot & preview servicesGenerate social-preview images of public pages and shared linksThe content of the public or shared page being previewed

The specific providers we use within each category are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations. On request, we can provide business customers with the current list of those providers and enter into a data processing agreement (DPA), including the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.

We may also share personal data:

  • With your team. If you are a member of a team on Motn, other members of your team can see your name, email address, avatar, role, and join date, and content saved to shared team resources (such as a team Kit and brand guidelines) is visible to your team. See the Teams section below.
  • With other users. When you publish a template, share a public canvas link, or otherwise make content public.
  • For legal reasons. To comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, safety, and property of Motn, our users, or others.
  • In a business transfer. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the successor entity.

7.Teams

Motn offers team workspaces for organizations. A team is associated with a business email domain. If your organization has enabled domain joining, you may be added to your organization’s team automatically when you sign in with an email address on that domain.

  • Visibility within a team. Members of a team can see each other’s name, email address, avatar, role, and join date. Content saved to shared team resources — such as the team Kit and brand guidelines — is visible to all team members.
  • Team administration. Team owners and administrators manage the team’s membership and plan, and are the point of contact for billing. If your team operates under a separate agreement with Motn, that organization may be the controller of your personal data and we act as its processor.
  • Leaving a team. To leave a team, change which team your account belongs to, or ask about how your organization’s domain-join settings affect you, contact your team owner or email us at hi@motn.ai.

8.Public content and shared links

Generated and uploaded assets may be served from public (but unlisted) URLs. If you publish a template or share a public canvas link, that content and the information you include in it become accessible to others, including the ability to view and remix it. Publishing a template makes the underlying project available for remixing — including its prompts, generated code, and assets — and your display name (or an alias you choose) is shown as the author. Do not include sensitive personal data in content you make public.

9.International data transfers

Motn is based in the United States, and our subprocessors may process data in the United States and other countries. If you are located in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, your personal data may be transferred to countries that may not provide the same level of protection as your home country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum). You can request more information using the contact details below.

10.Data retention

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, and afterward as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We retain profile data and credentials while you have an account, and we may retain aggregated or de-identified data, which does not identify you, for longer.

11.Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Help protect your account by keeping access to your email secure.

12.Your privacy rights

EEA, UK, and Switzerland. You have the rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

United States (including California). Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal data we collect, to access or delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of “sales” or “sharing” of personal data and targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal data. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

How to exercise your rights. You can delete individual projects in the app at any time. To access, export, or delete your account and associated personal data, or to exercise any other right, email hi@motn.ai from your account email address. We will verify and respond to your request within the time required by applicable law.

13.Children’s privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal data, contact us at hi@motn.ai and we will delete it.

14.Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
